TB8 Troubleshooting Tips (Cross-talk between pads)

Below are the possible setting adjustments to get the desired effect.  Try any or all.

  • Pad type selection  (use generic)
  • Trigger input type (select rubber or mesh pad)
  • Pad sensitivity
  • Rim gain or rim / edge dynamic response
  • Cross- talk cancellation
  • Threshold (pads minimum sensitivity)
  • Response time
  • Scan time (0-4ms) trigger signal detection)
  • Mask time (0-64ms double triggering prevention)
  • Re-trigger cancel (detection trigger signal attenuation)

Troubleshooting Tips (Trigger Malfunction)

No output from trigger?

  • re-seat TRS jack (fully pressed in?)
  • is TRS jack a TR(single zone) or TRS (dual zone) ?
  • TR jacks typically used for toms and bass drums.
  • TRS jacks typically used for snare drum (head and rim).
  • Swap TRS jack from another working drum to isolate problem source.
  • Tap tip of cone with your finger and watch control module input sensitivity leds for activity.
  • Is control module and amp turned on (really)??    Had to list it folks, sorry.
  • Is the control module input intended for a dual or single zone trigger?
  • Are you using the correct connection cable?

Head shot works but no rim trigger

  • Are you using a TRS cable intended for  2 zones?
  • remove TB8 and tap bracket mounting edge (with 4 holes) using your finger nail to test the rim trigger piezo.
  • Try a different channel utilizing 2 zone triggering to isolate a channel related settings.
  • Reset program parameters to factory default (many customers have had success doing this).
  • If you have two dual zone triggers, swap them to see if problem follows
